Messa In Luce
2022 | Pit-fired wild clay sonified by bone conducting transmitters, solar irradiances on May 16th from 11:00 to 16:00 (Kw/㎡), earth substrates, field recordings of Rio San Pedro and Mina Victoria, NASA recordings of solar activities, and other mixed media.
240" x 192" x 42"
Floating clay tablets are sonified by bone conductors, emitting sounds that the artist collective recorded in the river, desert, and salt mines in the Atacama corridor, Chile, to conjure the topography through visual and audible components.
The numbers imprinted on the tablets refer to solar activities that affect geological changes in the area.
